Reupholstering Church Pews & Furniture
In addition to manufacturing new pews, Imperial has the expertise and capability to perform first-class reupholstery of existing pews. Imperial’s reupholstery work is performed on-site at the church location, which allows the customer to continue using the facility throughout the process. Our knowledgeable, local representatives are available to assess your existing pews to help determine if your pews only need new upholstery, or if the padding is worn to the point that it warrants investing in new foam and fabric.
Repairing Church Pews & Furniture
Whether from water damage, storm damage, vandalism, maintenance mishaps, or some other unexpected event, Imperial Woodworks is capable of performing a wide range of pew repairs. In recent years, the most common repair has been replacement of wooden parts damaged by water from flooding. This can require replacement pew supports legs, pew ends, or both depending upon the design of the pews. Imperial can custom match the pew support and pew end routing to fit any existing pew, and Imperial can also custom color match so that new parts blend well with older pew parts. Imperial commonly works with nationwide restoration companies, as well as insurance companies, and our local representatives are only a phone call away.
Refinishing Church Pews & Furniture
When church pews maintain a certain amount of historical or sentimental value, it can be in a church’s best interest to refinish the pews. Imperial handles all refinishing in our factory, where the wood parts can be sanded or stripped back to the raw wood. From there, a new, oil-based finish is applied, including a spray-applied conversion varnish topcoat for maximum durability. If you are considering refinishing your wood pews as an option for your church, contact us to set an appointment with one of our pew experts. Please note that the construction of the existing pews must be evaluated to confirm that the pews can structurally withstand the refinishing process.
